A Definition of Medical Malpractice
While many are generally familiar with the term medical malpractice they may not be 100% familiar with a clear definition of it. In the medical profession, there are certain baseline acceptable standards of conduct and these standards are not to be deviated from. When these standards are ignored and the patient suffers injury as a result of such negligence then the patient is a victim of medical malpractice. For example, if a doctor does not perform a complete check up of a patient's prior medical history and prescribes a drug that ends up making a condition worse then the doctor may be guilty of medical malpractice.
